Drive training is a crucial element of the ABB Drive services we provide. Knowing how to correctly programme and maintain your variable speed drive is key to optimising performance and efficiency and extending your drive’s lifecycle.
Last week we visited our friends at MCS Control Systems to deliver hands on training to their engineers on ABB’s ACQ580; a drive designed and developed for the Water sector.
Our Technical Director Glen Hickman was joined by ABB’s Dan Banks to deliver a bespoke training course designed to meet MCS’ exact requirements, as Glen explains, “The way a drive is set up will depend on its environment and the application it is linked to. It is important for engineers to understand how to do this to get the best out of their ABB drives in terms of optimum performance and energy efficiency. We also like to cover the maintenance schedule for a drive, which again depends on environment and workload. Regular Preventative Maintenance will reduce problems and protect the drive’s reliability. Many clients ask us to carry our regular maintenance, but training courses such as this one also give site engineers the opportunity to learn what needs to be done”.
