Until the issue of “Wet Wipes” is dealt with at Government Level, it seemed the perfect opportunity to share with you “ABB’s ACQ580 – Pump Cleaning Function”. By utilising this feature, within the ACQ580, the problem of “ragging” can be reduced thus helping to reduce premature breakdowns and reduce blockages that you may see in your day to day work.

The pump cleaning function is used in wastewater applications to assist in cleaning of the pumps. It improves the operational efficiency and reduces the need to clean the pumps manually.

The function works by making rapid reverse and forward rotation of the pump to shake the dirt and rags off the impeller. There can be multiple different kind of triggers to start the function.
